St. Peter's Takatori Catholic Church

This is an image of the Takatori Sacred Heart Statue of Christ taken at St. Peter's Catholic Church  (a.k.a., Takatori Kyokai) in flames on the morning of the Kobe/Hanshin Earthquake of January 17, 1995, in the Takatori District of Kobe City.  It looks startingly like the painted image of Tecla Hashimoto which graces the upper-left-hand corner of all the pages of this website.  In particular, the icon of the Virgin Mary behind the statue is very reminiscent of Tecla with her children with a fire glowing beneath her.  There are more images below...
